Welcome to Tumba-Tumba

The Tumba-Tumba Children's Museum of Philippine Art is a major initiative of The Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS). The Museum will showcase and promote child-friendly Philippine art as a medium to encourage a love for books, and to encourage discussion and reflection on the key issues of our times.

The Museum is currently being built the province of Batangas. Its facilities and exhibitions will reflect CANVAS’ belief in the power of storytelling, and the cross-cutting nature of human rights as central to children’s rights, as well as the other big issues of our times—climate change, and safety on the internet.

Great art tell stories

They inspire the imagination. They can help to create narratives that speak of universal truths, or evoke pride in unique cultural strengths and traditions. They plant seeds of creativity into each child fortunate enough to meet them.

These exhibitions reflect CANVAS’ vision of what great art is and does. They represent what visitors can expect to see at the future Tumba-Tumba Children’s Museum of Art and Human Rights.

Some will seek to teach children to find their own stories. Others will wield the power of visual storytelling to encourage debate, reflection, and conversation on the relevant issues of the day, like climate change, national identity, children’s rights, and sustainable development. All are envisioned to be engaging, interactive and memorable.

We believe that a child empowered by art and stories can change the world.

This is why we seek to build this museum.
