The Bipolar Witness
acrylic on canvas

Komyuter
acrylic on canvas

Puti o Itim
acrylic on canvas

Special Action
charcoal, pastel and acrylic pastel ground on upcycled tracing paper on camouflage fabric

As an artist contemplating on our current situation, I used chair/s as a self-portrait of mine/people being compliant in wearing mask for the welfare of everyone. Mask/Must save us. Depicting masks as parachutes that would land us safely. A special action that could save us all. The school chair symbolizes the education system that has been one of the greatly impacted by this pandemic. The paper and pencil represents our voice for the next 2022 election. We need to be wise in choosing our leaders so we can be part of the solution and for the betterment of our next generations.

Drag as plasticity of identity. Plastic as global crisis. Plastic as shield from a global crisis.

Visions
oil on canvas

My work is all about whats in the artist mind some think that an artist wants just money and fame but its not. An artist always drives by his undying passion and ideas to showcase his visions inside his/her mind to connect with the ople in the society an artist is always part of society without it life is boring. A painting is always communicating to the soul of its viewers.

Labyrinth

My work depicts on how a person even with all his plans laid out becomes more lost in a plain huge space not even thinking that there is a labyrinth waiting ahead.

Tugon sa Kapangyarihang Pahamak
oil on pvc board and wood

Inhibition
oil on canvas

Gaano Ako Kabigat?
oil on canvas

May pagasa pa kayang ako'y umangat?

Krusada
oil on canvas

A crusade against the wrongs of the past. A crusader trying to extricate from the invisible bind that led us to where we are now. Scarred and broken.

We let ourselves be like a "manananggal", divided and unable to move. We handed our nation to the false and selfish leaders. Making a fool out us. Can we right and forgive our past? We cannot go back and fixed what had been transpired but be can always remember our roots. Let us carry the torch of our heroes who fought hard so we can have a better future. Let us not forget their hearts raging with fire and the ones who died to free us from bondage. Let us all stand so we can give better days to our children's children. We must guard what good is left and abolished the ugly ones. This crusade cannot be done solely. This crusade for the betterment of our nation should be everyone's aim. The juxtaposition of unity and progress yields a progressive presumption that in order for a nation to toddle forward, everyone must take part and must take action. A common goal creates a unified action, and a synchronized stride leads to the same path. It is only by moving together that a progressive future can be had.

Disturb the Comfortable
oil on canvas

The portrait is often meant to be flattering to the subject. But artist's responsibility is to reveal the truth, especially with how they perceive the world. To the ordinary person, our minds may be strange but we make sense of the chaos and Disturb the Comfortable.

Paslaom
oil on canvas

Ipinapakita dito yung pagod at hirap na nadarama. Inspite of lockdown experience, mas nakikita ang Opportunity over depression sa mga nangyayari. A symbol of door at the center of heart.

Ippon
oil on canvas

I've been attracted to fighting. It's not that I am a violent man but I'm always fascinated with movements and action. I always think that action painting speaks the loudest. Fighting back is an automatic, most primal reaction in times when we feel oppressed. It exposes our weakness and strength, though it requires physical strenght to withstand an opponent, a fighter must be mentally prepared to win the fight. As an artist, I'm also a fighter, because in life, like facing my canvases, it's like facing different opponents. At all times I'm in constant struggle, fear, loses and wins.
